This page is used to add or edit tournament information for a points scored event. In this type of event points (of any value) are entered instead of strokes. For a Stoke event look here. For a Match-Play event look here.
Tournament Name - The name you want to use for this tournament.
Tournament/Round Date - The date of the tournament or round. For a multi-round event, you should edit the date for each round to match the date of play.
Golf Course - Select one of your golf courses from the drop-down list. If the course you want isn't listed, you'll need to add it under <My Courses>.
Golf Course Tee - Select one of the listed tees from the drop-down list.
Scoring Entry Method - Select the scoring method from the drop-down list.
Individual or Team Scoring - Select how scores will be entered. If scores are entered for each player, select Individual. If only a team score is entered (for example in Scramble Events), then select Team.
Points Leaderboard Option - Determines the sort order of players on the Leaderboard.
Point Scoring Increment - Determines the increment (up or down) the mobile touch entry will change for each touch of the plus (or minus) icon. Defaults to 1.
Naming Option - Check this option if you want to allow scorers to change the name of their team/players during the tournament.
Tournament PIN Options - This PIN is generated by the system.
Tournament PIN Required For Scoring - When checked, this will require that your team scorers enter the Tournament PIN (one time only) prior to accessing the scoring for their team. It is a recommended setting.
Tournament PIN Required For Viewing - If checked, this will require that anyone wanting to view the leaderboard will need to enter the Tournament PIN (one time only) prior to viewing the leaderboard.
Scoring Access Control - Select the security level that you want for this tournament. The security level determines the process that teams use to be validated for entering their scores during the tournament. The security level also determines how involved you, the tournament manager, needs to be with scoring. The available levels and their descriptions follow:
Standard - Anyone who requests to be a scorer from the mobile site leader board will be given immediate access. This level of security assumes that all spectators and players are trustworthy. It is typically used in conjunction with a tournament PIN for scorers.
High - Anyone who requests to be a scorer from the mobile site leader board will have to wait for your approval. Using the tournament dashboard you can review and approve (or deny) scoring requests. When you approve a request an email is automatically generated and sent out to the requester with scoring credentials. This level requires both your approval and that the user entered email address be valid.
Ultra High - Requests to be a scorer can not be made from the mobile site leader board. Only the scorer email addresses that you enter for each team will have scoring access.
Locked - Only you (the tournament manager) can enter scores. The email addresses that you enter for each team will only be sent general tournament information and not scoring credentials.
Advanced Settings - Optional settings to enable advanced functions. The available settings follow:
Enable Editing of Team/Player Names - Check this option if you want to allow scorers to change the name of their team/players during the tournament.
Enable Flights For Players - Check this option to add a flight column to the player grid. Flights are used to divide players into different flights (or divisions). When flights are used, the leaderboard will display results within flight.
Enable Points Adjustment - Check this option to add a points adjustment column to the player grid. The entered value (which can either be positive or negative) is used as the starting points for the related player and can be used for golf formats (like Quota) that need a starting point adjustment.
Enable Display of total points to scorer while entering points for current hole - Check this option to add a total points view on the scorer's mobile input page. This feature helps the scorer check his entries for games like 'Banker' where the total points for his playing group should add up to a fixed amount on each hole. The total is only displayed, there is no validation of the total value.
Enable Assignment of Tee Times - Check this option if you want to add a tee time column to the player grid. The tee time can be used as a sort key when selecting players to score on the day of the event.
Enable Sort Column for Player Scoring Selection - Check this option if you want to add a special sort column to the player grid. Any alphanumerics can be entered in this column and used as a sort key when selecting players to score on the day of the event. As an example, if playing groups are identified in an event by number, you could enter the number in this column. Note that the sorted results are based on an alphabetic sort, so numbers will be sorted in alphabetical order. If numbers are used it is recommended that they be zero filled to the largest number of digits (i.e. 00,01,02...,09,10,11,)
Player Scoring Selection Order - Can be used to specify the default sort column when selecting players to score on the day of the event. The sort column can be changed by the end-user.
Enable Assignment of Scoring Emails for Players - Check this option to add an email(s) address column to the player grid. The email address column is used to assign scoring responsibility to players.
Start Type - Based on your selection here, the system will automatically generate starting holes. This will save you some data-entry time if you choose an option that closely matches your actual tournament. Note - This option is only available when adding a tournament.
Number of Expected Teams/Players - Based on your selection here, the system will automatically generate generic teams with associated starting holes. This will save you some data-entry time if you choose a range that closely matches your actual tournament. Note - This option is only available when adding a tournament.
Import File - Provides the option to import the teams or players list. For more information look here.
Registered Teams - This grid is used to create, edit, and delete player/team information. If using Individual scoring, enter Player names. If using Team scoring, enter Team names. The following information can be entered for each row:
Flight - If you want to divide players into different flights (or divisions) then you can optionally assign a flight code of up to 3 characters. If flight codes are used, then all players must be assigned a flight. In addition, when flights are used, the mobile leaderboard will display results within flight. If flights are not used then leave this field empty. We recommend a 1 character flight code to help prevent errors in typing, however you have the freedom to enter up to 3 characters to designate a flight.
Player/Team Name - Name for the player or team. You can use the generic name generated by the system or a custom name. During the tournament each scorer can optionally change their team/player(s) name.
Starting Hole - The starting hole for each team.
Optional - Scorer(s) Email Address List - This is an optional entry for all self-service security levels. If entered, the email address(es) associated with each team are approved for team scoring. The emails can also optionally be used as a distribution list for emailing team credentials (using the tournament dashboard). For multiple team scorers enter multiple emails separated by a comma. i.e. d@d.com,d1@x.com,d2@y.com Note that the Ultra High security setting requires that you provide team scorer email addresses here.
