Advanced Games/Skins

This page provides information on Advanced Skins.  For information on Pars Contests, click here.

Scrolf has two options for setting up Skins Leaderboards. The options are independent and both can be used at the same time:

Standard Skins: Select 'Standard Skins Leaderboard' on the Tournament Setup page.  This option will create a simple skins leaderboard and is the easiest and fastest setup.  If flights are in use, a separate section will be devoted to all players, and then each group of players within a flight. Click here for more help with tournament setup and Standard Skins.

Advanced Skins: First setup a Stroke-play event and then add advanced skin games. Each skin game (represented by a tab) has its own settings and player participants.  You can have multiple advanced skin games setup and the games include options that are not available on the simple tournament setup skins leaderboard. Note that each skins game is repeated across all rounds of the event.

Advanced Skins are selected from either the 'My Tournaments' page or the tournament 'Dashboard' page.

Advanced Skins Setup

Game Name - Enter a unique name for this skins.  The name will be displayed on the leaderboard header following the text 'Advanced Skins - '.

Max Win Players Per Hole - Use the dropdown to select the maximum number of players that can win a hole. Typically this would be one, but for large events you may want to permit several players to tie (and win) a hole. For example if this is set to '3', then up to 3 players with the same low score can share the win for the hole. If there are more than 3 players with the same low score then there will be no winner.

Skins Calculation Mode - Select the option that reflects how skins are determined.

Win Score Must Be At Least - You can optionally require that a win requires a score of at least one of the selected options.

Show Pushed Skins Names - Will add a column to the skins leaderboard which shows all players who have tied for the lowest score on each hole unless there is a single winner. This feature is only recommended for smaller events. Note that ties are affected by 'Calculation Mode' and 'Win Score Must Be At Least'.

Use Relative To Par Results (instead of actual score) - When enabled the skin will be based on relative to par results as opposed to the actual score.  This is most useful for events where players are using varying tees with varying pars.  So for example if two players both score a 4 on a hole but one player is playing a par 4 tee and the other is playing a par 5 tee then the Par 5 tee player will win the hole as they scored a birdy vs a par.

Purse Settings - Used to setup a total pot for the skin game that is distributed across the winners.

Purse Pot Entry Type  - You can either enter the total pot for the game or alternatively, the entry fee for each player. When entry fee is entered, Scrolf will calculate the total pot based on the number of participating players.

Total Pot / Entry Fee  - The value of the total pot or entry fee.

Pot Split  - Determines how the entry fee is split across the winners.

Event Split Across Wins  - The total pot is split evenly across each hole win.

Carry Over with Excess Retained  - The total pot is divided by the number of holes in the round and that value is the win amount for each hole.  If a hole does not have a winner, then the value is carried over to subsequent holes until a winner is found.  If there is no winner for the last hole(s), then the value of those holes is NOT distributed and is instead retained. The tournament organizer is then responsible for determining how those funds are used (retained for future event, distributed proportionally, etc.).

Participating Players - Participating players can easily be selected (or unselected) by clicking the 'Include' checkmarks. Note that the participating player information is automatically saved as changes are made.
